The only thing I disliked about this book is that it ended! I love being taken away to Big Lake. I have been reading this series since 2012 and I'm still like a kid in the candy store each time the next book comes out. Nick has a way of letting you visit with old friends and meet some new ones without bogging the story down. While I'm there I am always guaranteed a few chuckles, a few tears, and maybe even an eye roll or two. There is always suspense, a little romance and lots of fun. Nick Russell hit it out of the park again! Now comes the wait until my next visit.
This is a great series. Good stories and great characters. I bought the whole series and am about 3/4 of the way through
them. Took them on vacation. Great beach reads. Keep then
coming.
Readers of the Big Lake crime series will appreciate the way Author Nick Russell introduces new characters but keeps the quirkiness of the old town regulars in this latest book. The Sheriff of Big Lake has his hands full and his emotions stretched as he and other law enforcement officials struggle with a missing child. The suspects have their own issues and the storyline keeps the reader connected to the challenges of solving the abduction. Another good read by Nick Russell!!!
What a great book I had no idea where things were going love the story parts made me laugh . the town that he writes about I have come to love everyone and know everyone in the town.

There's trouble in Big Lake, Arizona again. Sheriff Webb and his deputies are looking for a missing little boy. But they are running into deceit, lies, and stories that just don't add up. But he can't let it go and keeps digging until he gets some answers.
I tell you, Nick really knows how to build suspense and keep you on the edge of your seat. I stayed up late reading, then kept putting off charging my until it finally shut down. I really think this has been my favorite so far. Nice job Nick.
Nick Russell always captures the reality of life in a small town. He devises intricate, clever plots that keep you guessing to the end. The dialogue is cleverly written and exactly captures characters living in small American communities. I feel like I live in Big Lake Wonder why I ever voted for such a knucklehead Mayor, enjoy the wonderful recreation opportunities and appreciate our dedicated Sherriff.
I'm now on book 11 - I love this series & can't wait to see what happens next. One previous book that had the Mayor's dog in it - I thought I'd roll when I got to that part. Don't want to miss any of them so I'm on to 11,12, & 13. Hope there will be a book 14. I love the people in this town - almost a Mayberry setting! Great Reads - all of them!
